Dude, I'm talking about Toronto. They are already here. And, Trump remains as North American, conservative, deco inspired as they get. No thanks to Dubai bling, Hong Kong and Shanghai boldness and Monte Carlo flash. For all the flashy commercial towers, Toronto average residential design hits way, way above.

Sweet L tower shot's by udo. I still think its posed to be, along with Aura, the defining tower(s) of the current boom (for Toronto, to date). With ICE & 1 Bloor just behind.

L Tower could be something special, depends on the cladding. But the shape already is the most groundbreaking tower design we've ever seen in this country.

Looks like they are working on the 6th floor at Aura. I could have taken a picture, just to lazy tonight.

Totally agree!

When Trump blends in with BAC/KPMG it reminds me of Conde Nast in NYC and IMO something like Conde Nast would look more modern, and savvy as a bold statement in the skyline.

Its a fat structure but I think it would still look nice slimmed up like Trump.

Condo nasty imo.

I walked past Trump today and the lobby detailing is looking superb.

I don't mind it from the street level although the grid-paper lines on the stonework bothers me. They could learn a lesson or two from Shangri La.

As far as the tower itself goes I think it's still overshadowed by the stunning reclad of FCP.

Although it is bad architecture, I actually honestly like the Conde Nast Building. The different layers and textures is interesting, also a great building at ground level. But the only two cities in the world which I see it fitting well would be New York or Tokyo. NY because the skyline is so massive and diverse. Tokyo because the design and mechanical top blends well with the city's ultra-contemporary look.

Trump is also bad architecture, but is much less forgivable. In terms of Po-Mo, I personally would have loved to see something like Citigroup Centre (Sydney), Chifley Tower, World Tower (Sydney) or Bourke Place. Now that I think about it, I'm actually quite fond of Aussie skyscraper architecture.

My eyes are being drawn to those LED lights. - I hope Trumps are at least as good as those ones on Jamison Place.

i ain't hating, but FCP is kinda boring now... i know it looks all shiny with the re-clad, but it's still the same FCP... just shinier.

Trump is still more interesting imo, more unique to your average person walking by.

I'd take another FCP (minus the antenna) over Trump any day.

LOL!.
i won't compare the two. they're too different. i'll stick with what we've got
Trump is unique. it's the slimmest, has the 3rd tallest roof, and the most unique roof feature out of all the CBD towers (one might argue the TD Canada Trust Tower, though i find the dome + spire much cooler)

I'm heading downtown for the first time in over a year to see the leaf's game. It'll be my first time seeing Trump in person so maybe my view will change, but I feel like up close it only gets worse.

Sorry Steveve, it's the fourth tallest, Trump's official roof height is 236.5 metres, putting it behind FCP, Scotia Plaza and Commerce Court West.
