Thankfully Aura looks better as more cladding goes up. I don't think that it will be the Trump-esque disaster that I once feared.

There is the potential, however slight, for the park pictured above to become one of the greatest urban squares in Toronto. once the restaurants and cafes have been completed at College Park and Aura, the fancy bars. I can really see this place on fire with action next year. A real challenger to Dundas Square and Nathan Phillips Square.

If that's going to come true it'll need a whole lot of work, Because as it is now I think College Park is one of the worst squares/parks in the core.

4 multi- level malls within a block of each other.

1. Eaton Centre
2. Atrium on Bay
3. 10 Dundas East (aka AMC/Metropolis)
4. Aura - College Park

And You thought Yonge & Dundas was crowded now?

Yeah, the honies were out tonight. Didn't expect it to be so nice today.

We got lucky.

Only problem with Yonge and Dunas (the building) other then the fact it is a mess of course Is the bottom floor:

More then half of it is empty ... retail units can't seem to survive even though they're right beside the subway entrance !

hmm, hopefully the much bigger mall that will go into Aura won't suffer a similar fate.

The bottom. level of Aura should be more interesting...

300 retail units (retail condos) this should lessen the financial burden of paying rent on a money loosing business because at least you can sell your unit. It should be way better than the bottom level of AMC/Metropolis

Yes 10 Dundas East is a joke I have studied that structured extensively for school. Its a self-perpetuating mess since its not the best spot for a "mall" its awkward and to many levels to far apart and that kills stores which thus kill traffic for the rest of the stores. Its nothing more than Ryersons Food court now .. but with Urban Eatery open nobody goes to the 10 Dundas East anymore.

They should gut the place, put a food court in the bottom level for the Subway Station and just put more offices in there with the main tenants still in tact like Shoppers, Future Shop, AMC, Milestones.

10 Dundas East and the City TV building are the biggest flops for that area IMO.

Agree, it's a complete dud. I have no issue with the garish commercialism on the exterior, but they forgot to design a building behind it. They just built a metal shed to hang the advertising on. This should have been Toronto's opportunity to build a show piece on par with the Pompidou Centre in Paris, but we got a giant trailer shell with escalators.

Even the height is wrong. Its current height should have been the podium upon which a tower rose. The podium could still house cinemas, exhibit space, but incorporating design worthy of a university building/museum.

I avoid this building at all costs and make a point of not giving any money to businesses inside. They need to tear it down and start again. It's a monumental disaster.

Oh geez, in the past year and a half I've spent 2,500 to 3,000 dollars in there. Worst thing is I'm actually really cheap.

1. laptops x 2
2. TV
3. 3 cellphones
4. AMC Movies
5. Foodcourt
6. Jack Astor's & Milestones ( Dinner dates )
7. Shoppers Drug Mart

You must have a gigantic family to need all that stuff. I buy a cell phone or computer once/5 years. I bought my last television in 1995 and the picture is as good as the day I bought it. I likely won't buy another television when it breaks; the shows don't run for more than a few minutes before there's an interruption so I don't bother with it any more.

I'm pretty sure he works in the app industry.. so the frequent updates on the phones is necessary. Couldn't explain the 2 laptops and TV's though.

I do change my phones regularly. You are correct. although, those were only my personal phones, and not my work phones. Of which I have had 3 different models.

I bought 2 laptops last year, one for myself, and one for my girlfriend at the future shop. $450ish Acer's.
