When is Herald Square starting? do we have a timeline on this?

and also what is going on with that golden 'First Canadian Centre II' proposal? Is that legit?

I'm becoming more interested in Calgary's construction as I'm moving there within the next 2 weeks.

I don't think Herald Square can start for at least 6 months to a year, as there is some demolishing on site that is required, and I'm not sure the last of the current tenants has even moved out of the existing buildings.

Plus there may well be a design change in the works for the project, so it could end up being twinned or made into a taller building and a smaller clone.

I would assume??

People are assuming nothing else taller will come along. They're also assuming that all of those taller proposals never see the light of day. Neither of these assumptions should be made. Toronto has 9 proposals over 200 m and more are likely.

It will matter as far as this thread goes. 1133 might have to go to the 11-30 list.

Perhaps something taller will indeed start sooner, but here and now it would come in at #10.

wow people are so obsessed with numbers and lists

Rest assured that 1133 Georgia will be knocked off the top 10 soon enough, by beauties such as 501 yonge, 10 York, Casa 3, 4 and 5, etc...

I doubt there is anything that we aren't already aware of starting in the next 18 months that will start in the next 18 months.

501 Yonge has little chance in its current form and some of number 10 York's iterations have potential. 1133 West Georgia twist doesn't inspire as it once did and that the developer is proceeding with the revised plan essentially cramming an additional eight floors into the same mass should be a concern to the shiny curtain wall.

The design alteration to 10 York was the most tragic of the year. I still can't get over how they butchered it.

I took tons of math, stats, and science over the years. I can't help being a stickler for detail.

The scaffolding has been placed around the top of Toronto Dominion Bank Tower today. Looks like they're gonna begin the reclad on this one immediately.

I think they're just repainting, not recladding it.

Ramako is right.

Windows and linear induction units are being replaced and the buildings are all being repainted.

The painting can only take place during a few months of the summer though, so the work will take several years.
