Funny, for this brief period of time during its construction, the building actually looks like the nearby Auditorium Building, just...raw.

I like how they addressed the low ceiling heights behind the facadectomy by putting in a little atrium and splitting 3 windows amongst 2 floors.

That's because, unlike LaGrange and Ritz Carlton, VOA and Roosevelt have class...

Sadly, his faux Parisian charms worked on le developers and le people wif le fat checkbooks.

Still, it's nice to see this is progressing rapidly now; it'll be really spectacular to see something else rise up over the Michigan Ave. street wall.

Great updates, harry & jc. I'm surprised that entrance canopy is already in place... really starting to take shape.

^^^ I thought the same thing. Doesn't that limit the work space now in the front a bit? Does anyone have a copy of what the average floorplan will look like? Units per floor? These kids are going to have awesome views!

A. This building is going to be slick as hell

B. I love your detail pictures Harry, the variety of joints used in steel construction is fascinating

C. Yeah, it is kinda weird. You'd think people would hold off on that until everything else is done. They completed the canopy on the Claire early and ended up busting out three panes of glass when one of the people painting the concrete dropped something (a brush or a can of paint or something) down onto it.
