The Ruan Center in Des Moines. You love it or you hate it. I personally think it fits very nicely with the Des Moines skyline, but that's just my opinion.

schmidt hammer lassen architects: campus aarhaus N at the VIA university college

danish firm schmidt hammer lassen architects have completed the 'campus aarhaus N' at the VIA university college in aarhaus, denmark. the focal building of the complex brings together 2,000 students from diverse disciplines into one location, unifying the specialized areas. a central full height atrium intended for student gathering is capped with a large glass skylight to naturally illuminate the interior. intermittent platforms and terraces are bridged with floating stairways creating multiple paths to travel through the space. four wings for administrative spaces, auditoriums, multimedia centers and multipurpose rooms extend from the communal area.

It takes a special kind of person to want to clad their house entirely in Cor-Ten, especially when it's a 1960s ranch...

Oddly enough, this house is right on the Puget Sound waterfront in West Seattle. The land it's on is probably worth more than the house...

by Bridgette Meinhold, 10/27/11

The Emigration Canyon Residence, designed by LA-based Sparano Mooney Architecture, is located just above Salt Lake City, UT with beautiful views of the Wasatch Mountains and the local flora and fauna of the high desert canyon. With rainwater collection, plenty of natural daylight and energy efficient systems, this bi-level, cor-ten steel encased home has earned LEED Silver certification.

Cor-ten is awesome. It has so much character, like nice stone and old-school brick.
