L'Altro Buca Closed

I was shocked to see L'Altro Buca closed on the 1900 block of Haro! But apparently the owners have bought the Ping's Cafe in the 2700 block of Main.

^^IIRC, another local resaurantuer will open an itialian-style restaruant at the same site, patio and all.

still sad at the loss of altro buca. I never had a bad meal there. they really paid attention to meals as they rotated their entire menu every couple of months. they had one of the best mushroom risottos i had here in vancity, but it was gone the next time i went.

Apparently Durbach's new Main St restaurant is called Cafeteria (named after the one in NYC maybe?). Some reviews on Yelp already. Quite amazing how Main Street has gone from zip to hip in just over 10 years.
