25C with a humidex of 31C and mainly cloudy until this afternoon when it cleared up.

Disappointed we didn't get a t-storm though.

The Canadian warmspot was Ashcroft, BC at 37.9C.

^ Nicko, the station at the Forks in Winnipeg has not dropped below 10C under your criteria. If you are including the downtown weather stations for Toronto and Montreal, you should include all of them

22C and sunny today! Below normal but pleasant nonetheless.

The low of 15C this morning was to coldest temperature recorded this month.

The Canadian warmspot was Lytton, BC at 40.2C. That is the new warmest temperature of 2012 in Canada. Perhaps the latest 40C reading ever in the country?

Really impressive heat wave over there.

haha, just how I feel, Ashcroft, Lytton, Osoyoos and Lillooet flirted with the 40 degree mark so many times this summer, now it finally happened. Always an impressive temperature to see in the Great White North.

As for Nikko, you may be on to something, August 18th is pretty late for 40 degrees, usually in BC all our 40 degree readings happen during the second half of June, July, or the first week of August.

PS - Campbell River has now gone 3 weeks (21 days) with no precipitation.

After a "chilly" morning of 13C, it turned out to be a gorgeous day once again.

25C with a humidex of 26C and sunny.

The Canadian warmspots were Ashcroft and Warfield, BC at 37.8C.

A beautiful day today in Calgary. Almost hit 30. Now it's 1130 and still 21 degrees. Nothing better than that.

You completely missed her point though. And take this from a person who has lived in the lowermainland and Victoria their whole life, we don't have those tropical type showers she mentioned. Unlike in the east, we don't get the warm rain type down-poors.

umm, we weren't talking about the warmth of the rain, haha! Or even how it falls, we were simply talking about the amount of sunshine a place receives, and Victoria is considerably sunnier than Vancouver, and indeed receives more sunshine hours and less rain than Toronto and Montreal annually

Dunno, but it is +28 with an expected high of 31 today and it is already feeling +32 with humidex.

I can think of a couple years during the dry years where we had this much or more.

25 or 26 degrees here. Seems kinda cool for August.

I always thought everyday in August should be above 30 degrees,
