Great to see Regina finally getting a new thread!

Someone should post updates on the front page of the current buildings under construction, approved and proposed and have them constantly updated ala the "top x in Canada" threads in the Canada forum.

Who knew that 4 years ago when I started the Regina construction thread we would still be here. Thank you all for 4 years of genuinely (for the most part ) good discussion and debate. May Regina have another prosperous 4 years and beyond.

Looking good, Regina!

When I was there for a brief stop last year, I love how you guys had your construction signs saying "Construction Ends. Thank You!" Then it shows the Regina logo underneath it, which to me, was like a signature of sincerity. I actually found it funny, yet, clever at the same time.

So much construction throughout the prairies.

Nearly 1 million views. There a lot of web sites that would kill for those numbers.

Governments are now contributing $14.5 million to the Renos already underway at Milton Heights on Broadway and Winnipeg. That is well over $100K/door with zero new low income housing units being created.

They are really going hard at City Square Plaza this morning. They are no doubt racing to beat the weather. There are several cement trucks and a huge cement pumping truck. Workers are pouring large sections of the plaza base, but not the driving portion yet. It is a continous pour with no rebar or divided sections. I assume the cement contains fibre for reinforcement.

I am not sure how they will prevent the this from cracking and heaving the finishing stone pavers to go on top, but I am sure they know what they are doing.

Great Job A4Regina!

So much of this excites me! The new public schools are beautiful, Canterbury having a Broad street frontage with shops and the U of R master plan! This is a great year for architecture/design in Regina.

North Central Share Facility
Hawkstone Concept Plan (Argyle Park / Englewood Expansion)
Proposed Shopping Center at Diefenbaker Dr. and Pasqua St.

I don't know much about this project so excuse my naivety! Did this just never go through with? I can't seem to find any info on the proposed location but it's current location is clearly not what we see in these renderings. Can anyone inform me?

On the topic of Fielding Nair, it's nice to see how many Regina projects are coming from them. Pretty much dominating the projects section on their website!

New Hawkstone neighbourhood development going ahead in northwest Regina By Patrick Book
Posted November 9, 2010 - 7:51pm
The new Hawkstone neighbourhood development in northwest Regina is going ahead, despite concerns that it will create higher traffic levels in nearby Argyle Park.

Documents presented at Monday's city council meeting show the addition of the neighbourhood, to be located north of Argyle Park, could increase the amount of traffic on Argyle Street from some 4,400 vehicles a day to 15,000.

That's a concern to some councillors, who note there are two schools along that road. City staff say speed humps or other traffic calming measures could be brought in.

Transportation and Infrastructure Manager Kelly Wyatt says they'll look into where the traffic is currently coming from as well.

"We have an outstanding commitment to council upon approval of this plan to do a detailed review of shortcutting in Argyle Park and make sure that the traffic being generated on Argyle is being generated from Englewood and Argyle Park itself."

She also notes that peak traffic times shouldn't coincide with the times of day when kids are heading to and from school.

Pasqua Street would be unable to handle the full volume of traffic, but it could also serve as a means to relieve congestion.
Looks like this Hawkstone area is going ahead.

Currently they are in the strip mall behind red lobster.
