I've always wondered why Rene-Levesque was built with stubby towers...it is as if there was a conspiracy to make CIBC and PVM dominate. Another thing that always bothered me is the 1250, which really only has its podium on the street. I've always seen that as a wasted opportunity.

thanks, stu.

as for the question of réné-lévesque, i think it's fair to say that the boulevard has been completely bungled, from start to finish. it's ugly, unwalkable, and generally unpleasant. in 20 years, when it's all fixed and nice, people are going to laugh remembering how it spent 50 years as a junior freeway. hateful.

Thanks for the pictures. The east facade of the hotel is a little disappointing so far.

For some reason, those two last pictures give me Hyatt @ Desjardins vibe.

It is a gross exaggeration, if only because the tower part of the project will be all glass, so what gives ? The podium part, we can already see how it will looks like and I find it tolerable and certainly much better than anything at Desjardins, which we can all agree is a terrible pile of bland architecture.

Dare I say that I like the generic boxes...? I love how tall this one is already, at less than half it's floor count too...
