Truly extraordinary STR, and very much appreciated. These renders provide a whole new perspective on the type of impact these towers will have on the skyline.

Very impressive. I wish I can create something of that scope, and with just using a 3d program.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Okay now these definitely need to be on wtc.com. And 15 Penn needs more context, I agree. It could very well put a lot of argument to rest.

Hey STR, is there any way you could take the renders at these angles?

I just wanted to see how amazing yours are compared to the official(yeah, right) renders.

^main difference would be that the buildings will be much darker in real life from most angles.

Hey, this is really nice. Are you taking update recommendations, though? I don't want to burden you with a whole pile of them, but there are at least a few simple updates I've spotted so far...

Thanks for doing this.

^Go for it. Great thing about a thread is that I can pick through what I want.

Beautiful models! I love the golden hour renders and your WTC. I'm amazed at the first image posted (on page 1) on this thread. I've tried many times to render a large fully detailed Winston-Salem skyline model I made as one piece, but the software won't allow me to do so. I have to render four different images and stitch them together.

Heh. I had to double my RAM and fiddle with the internal workings of 3D Studio to get that to run, and it took 4 hours to complete.

Working on the lobby of 1 World Trade Center. First render shows the main escalators for the office workers coming up from the concourse on B1. The second shows two local elevator lobbies. The elevators have actually been in the model for a while, but since the interior was pretty much ignored, I never showed them off. Oddly enough, something that still isn't in the model: the whole 2nd floor.

Oh, and this last one is just me messing around while I was modifying the elevators. I hid the floors, and that's what I see...

Preliminary work on 3 World Trade Center. This one is going to be special, because unlike the other firms, RR never publicly released a render of the final design. It took some digging, but I think I have the final version, though some details might be from between the 2006 version and the final version.

Wow i'm blown away every single time... just a tip: it seems like the shadows on each building are a bit too harsh compared to real photos, but that's no big deal. keep it up

^I often going for a specific effect to convey a certain mood. I'm not always going for photo-real.

Think of the whole project as a photo album of buildings that don't exist yet.

Other times...I forget to reset the highlights when I change the overall lighting. Meh.

It continues...in the lobby.

Interesting WTC facts: Office floor heights (slab to slab):
1WTC: 13'4
2WTC: 13'6
3WTC: 13'6
4WTC: 13'5
7WTC: 13'6
