Danny Williams Stepping Down

AllNS is reporting that Danny Williams is stepping down as premier, saying that he wants to go out on a high note having "successfully" negotiated the Lower Churchill deal.

Interesting.

Also interesting in the context of word coming out of Ottawa that the minister who would be responsible for that is from Quebec and has told people in QC that there is no way he will provide funding for this. Will be a big test of whether Mackay still has clout.

I didn't always agree with how WIlliams did things, but you can't argue with results. He was one of the few premiers who got things done.

Will that bag of wind be missed by any outside of Newfoundland and Labrador?

Didn't you notice on the plane when you started talking, eventually I started reading the vomit bag?

That's shhhocking!

@MolsonExport: probably not. But outside of Klein, Williams has been the most entertaining Canadian politician in a while. I miss King Ralph. I'll miss Prince Danny. There must be something about oil and crazy leaders.
