There is a skyscraper that took a long time to build. One World Trade Center.

Nice to see this kind of action going on in Brooklyn. This tower should look good from Manhattan.

Dermot’s BAM-Area Tower to Start Rising Very Soon

By Gabby | 03/21/2012

Quote:
Man, it seems like they’ve been digging the humongous hole for the Dermot Company’s high-rise residential tower at 29 Flatbush for years—which they have, since the official groundbreaking was in late 2010—but a construction worker at the site on Monday said steel should start rising within the next couple weeks. Here’s the official line from a spokesperson for the developer: “The project is continuing as anticipated with a superstructure that will begin to rise this spring.”

The building, which will top 40 stories, will have 327 studio, one- and two-bedroom rentals. It’s being built in the development-heavy BAM Cultural District/Downtown Brooklyn border zone.

I'm confused. Will this one be a slate facade or brick? The renderings are showing the same angles with different materials.

I would love to see a developer daring enough to try real brick + stainless steel and high-iron glass. It would be modern and very Brooklyn.

Well where can I sign up to live here? I haven't seen anything online about floorplans or applications otherwise I'd be right in line. If anyone has any information on that - don't hesitate to throw it my way!

I work right across the street from it and from seeing them working every day, they've had a lot of issues draining the site. They always seem to be pumping water out. It looks like that's subsided for now as they're starting to make a lot of progress lately. It's scheduled to be finished June 2013, so they've gotta start going vertical soon!

The security is now on the Flatbush side where I have been taking most of the pictures, I'll have to find a spot in my building where I can take a decent shot from now on. Made a ton of progress since last week and things are starting to move!

I lurked this forum for a while now and I created an account just to tell you guys about this! Lol the other day I was over there and thought "It's 3-4 stories now" but you beat me to the punch.

Finally glad to see it moving up!

Thanks for the update. Didn't really notice that two story opening on the render until I saw those pictures. The side facing your building should be completed soon, I wonder how this looks from the other side.
