Ha. Saw, you might well (if not surely) be right... I still find its current look sort of cheesy and think the white panels, added as a 2nd skin in such a case, would definitely be an improvement.

I often feel harsh at that period anyways. Chartis was completed in 1967.

There's that other building, Atlantique, of the same height and era (1970) right across the esplanade.

The walls of the terrace roof will make it look a bit taller, but it's some unadvertised addition to the skyline, though.
Because of the increasing amount of blue glass, that cluster kinda looks like some parts of downtown Chicago, doesn't it?

For those curious about cranes, there's some kind of action here. They're changing one by another of a different type whereas the building yet seems almost completed. Guess it's worth the move, they obviously wouldn't waste their efforts or time.
Yellow crane's the newcomer.

So the luffing jib crane being removed was the one of which the mast was stuck inside the building. The yellow crane to replace it is of a more regular type so to say, that's supposed to work faster. An operator dealing with a luffing jib must be slower.

A couple of days ago:

The glass around the roof terrace looks partly transparent but there may be various treatments depending on walls:

Most of the building is actually covered with a three-layer cladding that would implement an airing system aiming at a moderate use of air conditioning.

Meanwhile at the foot:

There was supposed to be a green wall right there, don't know whether they'll finally make it:

I dislike the transparent glass at the top. I feel like it leaves the (wonderful) angles and design language of this building incomplete.

^ So do I, transparency at the top doesn't seem to fit the rest of that facade.
But now I'd rather wait to see it completed before saying anything.

Some French American dream, I assume. Notice that French added to American makes a certain difference...

Taken from Suresnes by Cyril for SSC a few days ago.

The exterior of the tower is nearly complete, looks nothing more than random to me. Still good for density. You get more pictures here.

Ah, there's a US cemetery in Suresnes, that's why the flag. There's a bunch of US flags over the country anyways.
