With all due respect to our architect friends on here, sometimes I just wish architects would say "because it looks pretty!" when asked why they designed a certain building the way they did. A lot of the time all this symbolic representation stuff sounds like they just made it up after the fact!

If it was flat they would say it represents the prairie, if it was curved it would be the river, if it was blue it would be the sky, brown the earth, jagged a birch tree, and circular...Tommy Douglas and prairie socialism binding us together against our harsh elements.
In other news...the gallery is growing on me. It's unfortunate though that nothing is being done with the edge of the "desination complex" along that side street (can't remember the street name). Perhaps they could at least put some kind of art installation there?
