Edmonton - City and Color

Took the stumpjumper out for a run yesterday. Little known is that Edmonton has a ton of wicked single track and other trails right from downtown east and west in the river valley. I headed east towards the refineries popping in and out of nature and the city. Enjoy.

Yesterday I was hoping for a new Edmonton gallery and you show up! Good chit, good chit!

I assumed Edmonton was located in open flat prairie environment. Judging by some photos it seems situated in a forested area.

Questions about Edmonton...

Hey you guys...I have plans to visit Edmonton and Yellowknife in August...looking at Edmonton, the skyline and downtown look amazing! Are there any areas in Edmonton that are like Yonge St in Toronto or Granville St in Vancouver (lots of street theratre, interesting people, cool shops, local flavour?)...I'm also looking for an inexpensive hostel-like place (like the YWCA in Vancouver or the Jail Hostel in Ottawa)...

Any tips? Thanks!
