It looks ridiculously out of scale from the picture. Still anything new is welcome and miles ahead of the most of the stock in that 'nabe in terms of quality.

Wow that makes me proud to be Canadian. Even our suburbs top the continental charts haha!

I'm sure Burnaby is in the top 20, with Surrey not far behind as well.

EDIT: WWWOOOWWW! Look at Toronto! It is building more than the entire other 9 in the top 10 combined! Holy shit man!

and... Ottawa and Montreal are outpacing Calgary and Vancouver in highrise construction? Weird! But cool.

^ I wouldn't be so excited if I were you. That entire article's premise is based on Emporis's notoriously inaccurate figures. According to Emporis, downtown Vancouver was one of the densest in the world with a population of over 1,000,000! (seriously, this used to be in their official intro to Vancouver)
