Downtown Toronto for one day...

So I'll be in downtown Toronto for a day tomorrow, staying at the Metropolitan Hotel. My wife has meetings and I'll be pushing around a baby stroller until about 4. Kind of a short notice trip so I haven't done much research but can anyone suggest a really good walk? I'm less concerned with seeing touristy stuff and more concerned with funky streets and great neighborhoods. Anything close by? Thanks in advance!
