Great shots. Indy is very underrated, mostly due to it's 'clean-cut/borderline sunbelt city' reputation. It does have midwestern bones though, and it definitely shows in these photos. Great job.
I think that Regions Bank Tower is an older tower reclad by the way.

Yeah, according to ColDayMan it was severely damaged by a tornado a number of years ago and was reclad?

You guys should see a game at Victory Field next time. You'd love it. I may make a thread of a game from there before summer ends. .......Look at this...Indy is getting more attention than my San Francisco threads. Way to go Indy..

Interesting. Many of those shots were taken pretty close to full wide-angle/18mm... Definitely not some that showed more detail, but probably over half of those were 18mm or damned close to it! Thanks for the tip, though. I'm always looking for good ways to improve my photos!

Agreed. It's the extreme blue color of the JW Marriott that' so freaking awesome. The tower itself is massive, but nothing too special in terms of architecture. Definitely it's the color that sets it apart!

Even though its 10-11 years old, I really like the way Conseco Fieldhouse's design pays tribute to all those great little basketball arenas scattered throughout the midwest that were built early to mid 20th century.
Solid pics of a very handsome city. I especially like the way the monuments, fountains and government buildings are arranged--it really feels like a capital. I've known Indianapolis for decades, as it is the birthplace of my father and his father before him, and the center city especially has come a long way from the "Indianoplace" some of my relatives once desparaged. Very vibrant and alive.

Buckeye, both Conseco Fieldhouse and Lucas Oil Stadium are pretty great, and both fit in well with their surroundings. But yeah, the Fieldhouse fits in so well it's unbelievable!

I've always loved Indy. I don't understand why so many people think this city is not urban.
It's definitely urban, but really only in the center core of the city. It's much more "sunbelt" like just outside of the main core.
I don't know, maybe it has a "Denver urbanity" side to it, where it's still urban, but just not on the density of the more traditional East Coast/Rust Belt cities, that's all.
