Brussels - 74 touristy shots

Please click on the pictures to view larger sizes

I was in Brussels (as part of a larger western European adventure) for the first time this past July and thought that I'd share my pictures here. They are pretty much all from some of the more touristy areas. I enjoyed my time there, and would definitely return again.

Most beautiful public square in Europe, IMO. (and without seeing the majority of them in person )

Nice pics of our capital. Brussels is somewhat underrated, but has got a lot to offer. Great museums, lots of greenspaces (though little in downtown), stunning old architecture. Also outside the city center there are plenty of beautiful, 19th century districts.
Thank you for sharing adn glad you liked it!

Your excellent photo thread of Brussels contributed to me wanting to visit (it's also great that a direct flight from Montreal is available). Brussels, with its two cultures, mix of old and new, reminds me in some ways of Montreal. I look forward to going back and exploring some of the neighbourhoods. I would love to go back when they have the flower carpet on the Grand Place.

An added bonus was that I went during the Flemish national holiday. It was interesting to learn a bit about the Flemish culture first hand. (someone handed out flags like the one below):
