Park Lane is probably the most valuable development site on the planet. It's a goner.

Yeah that site will be developed, its just the question of when really.

Ideally, it would be best to wait, until the ultra-luxury market isn't as saturated, and build a tower similar to CPT.

The super tall design may not be the final iteration, and is merely a placeholder until advances occur. Long-term is the key with that site.

IMO, I'd love to see a mixed used. Another hotel with a residential aspect (ultra-luxury). The residential functionality and price range will naturally come with the territory.

The site in theory could yield a new tallest. I think it will go the way of One57 and CPT as an investment tower meaning that it will attract wealth to invest in the units not for living, but for profit over time. If there is a hotel portion, that would give life to the potential tower.

Yup, that's what I was reading. The land alone is worth about 3/4 of a billion. And it's a tiny piece of land.

Yup. The only hope would be for some form of transferable development rights. Giving a developer more of an incentive to build nearby elsewhere on another site rather than demo and rebuild on the same site.

I have zero faith that NYC could structure such a plan, so I agree it's as good as gone.

Not sure where else to post this, but this 50 minute Smithsonian documentary on New York has some pretty incredible shots of the skyline.

Meh, it's alright. Can only hope its successor is better. If not, then I would also suggest they leave it alone.

Will Harlem or anywhere north of Central Park get any large high rises or supertalls anytime soon. I haven't ever seen any proposals for anything tall north of 79th.

Supertalls? Likely no, at least not in the near-term.

There are some 500 ft.+ buildings u/c or planned north of 79th. There's a 525 ft. tower rising at 3rd Ave. and 88th street. There's an 800 ft. tower planned for 96th & 1st. There are tons of 200-400 ft. projects, up through the Bronx.

Current proposal diagrams. LES Towers need to be added. A lot missing. But I guess once renderings and more info is provided, they too will get diagrams.

There's a box you can tick that makes the diagram "show" towers without drawings, i.e. list them in the right order and show just a colored bar at ground level. For saving snapshots like this, I'd say showing those would make sense.

Looks like 80 Flatbush will be a super tall, and just make the 300m cutoff at 74 floors and 987 feet above street level.

Some new renderings:

Woah, another building and architecture who can make me so amazed

But, so far, I'm so in love with Central Park Tower, they are made a good building and a good concept too for their architecture.
