Morocco - Africa's most diverse country

I was inspired by the awesome Morocco thread I saw on this forum last week, and it's been a while since I posted my photos here. So here are some of my pics from my last trip to Morocco in December-January. Enjoy

The credit for the idea for this pic goes to -AX-

This thread thoroughly wowed me! You have some very interesting perspectives in a lot of your shots, which makes the scenes very dynamic. This is on top of the technical skill and outstanding light and subjects. One of the best threads I've seen in my years around this place, and I do not say this lightly.
All the more amazing because there is so much of it too!

Well that was a treat. Morocco doesn't get enough exposure, at least not in North America. I'll second Big T's comments, I really enjoyed some of your angles and chaotic yet composed shots. Looks like you hit a lot: Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Marakech, Merzougha? Essouaria, the Atlas, the desert dunes. Like your title, Morocco really is diverse.

Where is this?

And I spotted this shot of yours, the royal tomb or whatever in Rabat...

There is a man hanging out next to the brass fixture in the right side of the photo. He appears to be in a suit, wearing a fez hat, with his arm outstretched. I'll be damned if this isn't the same guy

I took this shot a year ago, he must be security or something.

Wow! Breathtaking photos. Morocco is such a fascinating place. Beautiful landscapes, culture, and distinctive city architecture.

I took this shot a year ago, he must be security or something.

The first pic was taken in Legzira, this place is a 20 minutes drive north from Sid Ifni. The cities and towns appearing in this thread are the ones you named except Casablanca which I couldn't visit (some issues with the flight) plus Zagora, M'Hamid, Ouarzazate, N'Kob, Alnif, Amzrou, Erfoud, Rissani, Sid Ifni, Chefchaouan, Larache and the roman ruins of Lixus and Volubilis. I was planning to go all the way down to Western Sahara but didn't have the time. I crossed the Mediterranean sea from Algeciras near Gibraltar in Spain to Ceuta but I had some issues with a computer and I lost my pics. The fact that I had to speak the 3 languages I know in Morocco was interesting: Spanish in the North near Ceuta (which is one of the two small Spanish enclaves in Morocco), French in the most densely populated areas of the country and English in the south and the desert where French was less spoken.

Yes the second pic is the royal tomb is Rabat! Didn't notice this man though, could be the same one.

Excellent photos of a beautiful, intriguing country. My girlfriend and I visited Marrakesh in May. The narrow streets are filled with so much energy. You did a great job capturing the scenes of la Maroc but it's unfortunate there is no way to get the noises and smells of cities like Marrakesh, as it's equally as fascinating.

I liked the photos of the Atlas mountains with the snow on them. I also enjoyed the photos of the square within the medina at Marrakesh. When you're there at dusk, you suddenly realize you're a long way from home. There is so much going on all at once, although I could do without those snake-charmers.

sumptuous photos. the atmosphere is amazing. the low contrast works really well -- it's not what you'd expect from morocco and it makes the place look even more intriguing than usual.
