Google Earth imagery updated again
It looks like on Google Maps and Earth that the Portland satellite photos have been refreshed again. This newest update is from 8/21/11. The photo quality is nice and it was done at a time of day when there were shadows, which is good because it adds contrast between asphalt streets and tar roofs and makes downtown look dense.
Now you can see Pearl Family Housing, the Overton, completed homeless facility in Old Town, fed bldg remodel, work on the streetcar by OHSU and dirt moving, the College Station student mid-rise, progress on the eastside streetcar, the new grain terminal at the Port of Vancouver, and the Green Line MAX in its completed state. There are other little fun things to notice if you are observant: the Fremont bridge is being resurfaced, a unique looking elevated pipeline structure was added to an industrial facility along the Willamette, houses are appearing again in dormant subdivisions, etc
Since not everyone is addicted to Google Maps like I am, I thought sharing the news would be appreciated.
