That Dartmouth proposal looks incredible. IMO, pound for pound one of the best proposals in the nation.

I think this should also be on this list (?). And knocking off Ottawa from the list.

Vogue, Calgary. 36 storeys, 125 m

I don't know how to feel about that one, haha. Do I hate it or love it??

Anyways, good job on the list, and nice to see yet another tall proposal for Burnaby. Burnaby will arguably have a better skyline than many american cities 5 times its size (and its just a suburb!). The good thing is its street presence has also been improving lately (though it still has a ways to go). For example the entire podium / retail / office component of the centrepoint project was a great addition to Kingsway.

Also nice to see 2 of Van's tallest proposals being office towers!

If you are talking about Manulife Financial, then you are mistaken. The name Manulife II is just a placeholder until there is an official name released. It's called Manulife II because it is across the street from Manulife Place (Edmonton's current tallest) and was the site of a proposed twin tower to Manulife in the '80s. Manulife II as you currently see it is owned by AIMCo, the same group who has done Eighth Avenue Place in Calgary and the Devon Tower in Oklahoma City.

What are you talking about? Manulife's real estate arm pales in comparison to the giants backed by massive public pension funds.

Shouldn't Surrey's Holland Pointe, at 160 meters be on this list?

http://www.centurygroup.ca/#/develop...holland-pointe

But like with every Surrey project, I will believe it when I see it. Fingers crossed this one goes.

Here is the Skye Halifax rendering. I don't think there is an official height released but it is a 48 storey residential development:

Source

People may or may not take it seriously but the fact is that the developer is applying for permits and has produced renderings, a website, has gone to public meetings, etc. It is a proposal.

King's Wharf in Dartmouth is quite a substantial development. The taller tower will be nice, but already there are 2 shorter buildings well on their way to being completed and in total there will be about a dozen buildings with on the order of 600-1000 units if it goes as planned. It will be enough density to make that part of town fairly vibrant.

Are you sure this project is 160 meters?

I will put it in the list of unknown height/significant unsubstantiated proposals until I know what the height is for sure

the palliser sq proposal looks like crap, but mostly due to the Kentucky Tub tower in between.

Forgot London's Rennaisance 2 which is already well underconstruction. It's the twin tower of already completed Ren 1. It's a 28 storey condo/apt tower located right in the heart of the city.
Ren 1 filled up so fast that Ren 2 started construction a full 2 years ahead of when they thought it would be needed. Downtown London's population has been soaring in the last 10 years which has greatly helped in the 180 degree turn in the healtth of the Core {as it's called in London} and more projects are planned.

Yes Cal, CF(OTPP), Oxford (OMERS) and Ivanhoe Cambridge(SITQ) are the big names. BCIMC and AIMC dont have dedicated big name RE firms but partner with some of the big firms often, such as GWL and Bentall.

160M was the last official height. The project has been around for a few years with little action but that is about all we have to go on. It will likely end up around that height though.

London's Ren 2 isn't tall enough to be in the top 10 construction list or the top 25 proposal list, and the architecture of it is extremely bland and unremarkable. I wouldn't be able to add it to the list of honourable mentions.

Anyone feel like helping me out with my overhaul of Skyscraper Diagrams for Canadian suburban cities?

So far I've only gotten to Burnaby and New Westminster in BC, and... though they're not Suburban, also did a few in Winnipeg and one in Yellowknife. Would like to do Surrey, Mississauga, North Vancouver, and Kelowna(not a Suburb).

Any help would be great, I'm not the greatest at the diagrams but I'm alright

In defense of the Renaissance and ssiguy, the Renaissance would be 5th from the bottom of this list (at 93.2m) if you were going by height. Since this is a 25 tallest outside of the GTA thread why shouldn't it be on the list?

I'm just curious.
