Exactly.

For some reason people find pictures of Cubans driving cars that are 50+ years old next to buildings that are dilapidated and falling apart somehow charming while over in the thread about the Ryugyong Hotel in North Korea it's hard for people to say anything positive about that building given the politics of North Korea, yet they are both totalitarian regimes.

Even though I love the Ryugyong hotel, I find little else appealing about either Cuba or North Korea.

1. The reasons why Cubans are driving cars that are 50 years old and live amongst dilapidated buildings is due to the despicable and illegal embargo imposed on them by the USA, so if you want to blame someone you should blame your own country.

2. To Compare North Korea to Cuba is insulting to say the least. Cuba might be dictatorial in some aspects, but I can assure you that Cubans enjoy a lot of freedoms that North Koreans can only dream about.

unfortunately it can only be said that cubans have a lot freedoms in comparison to north korea!! that has nothing to do with the usa and everything to do with the castro family and the rest of the handful of ruthless dictators who run the place.

when the cuban people gain a participatory government, and they may soon although hard to say, they will receive usa investment, and yes that will include mcdonalds and starbucks, sorrrryyy.

All I can do at the moment is just stare at how beautiful your photos are (*_*). I don't know if that's just how Havana is 24/7 or if your photography skills are just that great, but you definitely know how to bring the best out of your subject...
