Question Denver Development Thread (4)

Since the last thread was locked, I figured a new one should be started.

Arrgh this thread is so much harder to find, the old one I could Google at "Denver Skyscraper Forum" and it would be the first link that comes up.

We got a link to the old thread at the end of this one - but really, can we get a link to this thread at the end of the last one? That is a much more logical order.

Sniff, so many memories in that last thread. To think when it was started Glass house was just wrapping up, 10/2006. Denver's improved itself nicely since then.

Crazy to think we're on a fourth thread for this. Someone should do a "then" and "now photo-post with a shot from 2006 and one from 2009 comparing Denver to mark the new thread.

Thinking back how we were all sweating bullets over the difficulty of getting 1LP, the Spire and Four Seasons built. We missed on the Great Gulf, but 3 out of 4 from that time isn't too bad. In the mean time, several medium sized projects came on line too and look at all the infill over the last 3-4 years. Now if we can just get half of the proposed buildings built in the future.

Actually you can go to City compilations and see it. Maybe Snyderbock will do what you are suggesting sometime.

Yeah, I've seen the one on the city compilations thread. It was just a musing that the image, or a new set similar to it, would be fitting for this new thread. I'll be in Denver tomorrow, which will mean a photo update and (hopefully) a blog update, so stay tuned y'all.

Here is what I love about Denver...

I've been a resident here for nearly 30 months now, and, in that time, I have witnessed what seems like an immense amount of growth, despite economic problems. Of course, I also arrived at the completion point of several huge projects, such as TREX, but it's still been quite something to see. The city has surprised the hell out of me, it really is an amazing place.

Imagine:

-Fully built out FasTracks
-Fully built out Denver Union Station
-Fully expanded Denver International Airport
-Fully built out inner-city "NexTracks" Streetcar system
-Rebuilt Civic Center Station streetcar hub station
-Rebuild/redesigned Civic Center Park
-HSR from New Mexico to Wyoming
-HSR from Denver to Black Hack, Vail, Aspen, Steamboat Springs and Grand Junction
-Dozens of more infill projects in central Denver with tens of thousands of addition residents and workers.

Scott the title of this thread is fine, I was just saying that if I google "Denver Skyscraper Forum" it lands on this page. It's a forum about skyscrapers specific to Denver - it's how I originally found skyscraperpage.com, so I guess Google works.

Incidentally, it still works for this thread too. Try it.

Uh...

I've moved 30 times since I was 18, I don't really feel like I'm 'from' anywhere, but, I came from, more or less, Columbus, Philly, DC, NYC, Sevilla, London, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Kuwait City, Altus, Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, Walnut Creek, Spokane, Pensacola.

Some of those places are cool, but most pretty much suck. That said, I'm more of a big population center type of person, so...

I like it here, a lot. I'd go back to Cali (N or S) in a heartbeat, though. But it'd take a LOT to make me move anywhere else than here or there.

This looks like a cool development.

BTW...why don't you guys keep a list w/images of all the construction going on in town. .. I assume you do it in the City Complications place as many American cities do but it would be cool to have here.

We do keep updates here, they are just sporadic. The last few pages of the Denver Construction Update (3) had some good updates.

I also updated my comparison post with projects we can look forward to over the next few years. There are some nice ones, I hope they get built.
