A win against any Boston team is worth twice as much for me.

Also, I gotta say, Toronto's success under Mariner is starting to become noticeably consistent. I'm really happy to see it. Vancouver is in great shape this year, and Montreal will hopefully continue to play well and climb the rankings (especially with Nesta in the back). If Toronto really has pulled it together, it'll be nice to have three strong Canadian teams playing.

That being said, they better not catch up to Monteral...
Montreal have to catch up to the Caps first.

I don't expect to see that happen. Right now I'm just rooting for Montreal to squeak into the 5th place spot in the East. As far as the Caps go, they need quite a collapse to not make the playoffs. Almost ten points ahead of 6th place, and they are a strong team. I wish I got to watch them more though. Living in St. John's, the time-zones just don't workout at all.

Back home from our Okanangan - Van - Seattle trip. The Whitecaps game was a blast, and they won too which was good.. lol. Great atmosphere. July 22nd vs Earthquakes.

Its cool how Robson St leads right to the stadium. Lots of places to eat and hang out, and close to shopping etc. Why we build stadiums anywhere else but central is a mystery. cough MC Shithole cough.

B.C Place is awesome.

Few picks (mine, cell phone).

Walking to stadium down Robson.

This made me throw up in my mouth a little.. kidding. Not really.

Panorama before game.

BIG SCREEN!!!

Warmup.

Pre game, Anthem.

Robson taking a corner kick.

Sorry off topic I know..

We also went to the Mariners vs Yankees game in Seattle.. Not much of a baseball fan but its good live and Safeco is amazing, just like Century link. Americans know how to build great stadiums. More Yankee fans than Mariner fans..lol. Wayne Gretzky was there too, sitting down below us. When they showed him on the screen half the crowd went nuts.. so many Canucks there LOL.

Looks like fun. I can't wait for my trip to Montreal the end of the month when I get to watch the Impact and D.C. United. Your pictures have only increased my excitement.

The CONCACAF Chamption's League begins tonight, and Toronto FC plays their first game tomorrow. I'd be shocked if TFC makes it out of the group stage. They drew quite a difficult group. That being said, I'll root for the Canadian representative.

The American MLS teams actually have a pretty decent shot and taking this tournament, which would be great. Aside from Toronto, I'm hoping for Seattle or Real Salt Lake, but I'd like to see any MLS team win. It'd be very neat to see an MLS team compete in the FIFA Club World Cup in 2013, which would be the first time an MLS team represents CONCACAF at the tournament.

BTW-Another nice win by the Impact... having Ferrari, Rivas and NESTA back there makes all the difference.

Now 30 pts in 25 games (Vancouver has 34, Toronto has 19...). We have the same number of wins as Vancouver (9).

Our 35 goals scored are good for 4th overall in the MLS.

Not bad for an expansion team...

Montreal is a fantastic expansion team. With Ricketts gone (who I certainly had no love for), and the three monsters you mention, Montreal's defense suddenly looks unbelievable.

Keep in mind though, Montreal has the most games played in the league. While we're in sixth right now in the East, the teams behind us DO have a chance to catch up. Columbus in particular, with five games in had and only two points back, worries me. Hopefully Montreal finishes the season big. Their proximity to a potential playoff spot has me incredibly excited, especially considering I'll be watching them play D.C. in just over two weeks!

Anyone watch the Open Cup Final last night? I fell asleep during it (everything is on so late in Newfoundland!) but I woke up disappointed to see Seattle hadn't won. Really wanted to see four in a row for them. I really like their team and their team philosophy. Probably my favorite American club.

Pretty decent first season so far for Montreal, at least when you compare number of wins vs the Caps record last year. Looks like they need to work on preventing goals against. A lot can change before the end of the season...

MLS Disciplinary Committee Suspends and Fines Montreal Impact Defender Nelson Rivas

NEW YORK (August 9, 2012) – The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Montreal Impact defender Nelson Rivas two additional games and fined him an undisclosed amount for head butting Philadelphia Union forward Antoine Hoppenot in the 68th minute of their game on Aug. 4. Rivas received a red card for violent conduct, which carries an automatic one-game suspension. Thus, Rivas will be suspended for a total of three games, beginning with Montreal’s game at New England on Sunday. (VIDEO)

Separately, the Committee fined San Jose forward Chris Wondolowski for his public criticism of the officials after the Earthquakes game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on July 22.

Fines collected will be donated to the charitable partners of MLS W.O.R.K.S. and the MLS Players Union.

Well deserved in my opinion, that was a bitch move by Rivas.

3 games in total, which means he won't be back until mid-September. I wonder if that will have a great impact (pun somewhat intended) on the team.

Another win for the boys last night. The game against D.C. in two weeks is going to be huge! Chicago is blazing ahead while D.C. seems to be struggling. Looks like Montreal needs to knock Washington out to move into a playoff spot.
