Saw the ad for this today in Fugues...I agree it seems pricey starting at 343K but if they put up that "Broccoli" tower on the other half of the lot that will reduce the appeal and cut the views...what would they do then?

That's a good point! The broccoli tower could potentially be disastrous for this one. And so be it, uninspiring architect, lackluster height, stupid name.

I'm actually starting to convince myself that these won't look half bad. They certainly aren't horrible. They certainly are bland, but I'm glad they aren't too loud or garish. I'm liking the effect with the CGI building. They are worthy of downtown unlike the TOM condos, IMO.

I never hated them, just indifferent. But I kind of agree with MTlskyline that in the wider context of downtown, they can have a positive aesthetical effect.

I especially like the base and top.

I actually like these towers. Clean angles, well proportioned, decently proportioned podium, great location. If only they could be a bit taller. But that parking lot is probably the worst (ugliest, most soul-sucking) in the downtown area. How many times have I passed that hated parking lot (en route to Windsor Station [RIP, and what came afterwards...Lucifer L'Assholier stn] and Gare Centrale/PVM? Thousands of times.

Good observation, considering this City's track record concerning blank walls, we should consider ourselves lucky!

Official: the prefab notwithstanding, this is one project that gets the coveted Rommheimian seal of approval. I really like how it will give poor old Rene Levesque a veritable wall effect it so sorely lacks!

I totally agree with Rico Rommheim, this site is one of the last site allow a maximum height. If the project is interesting it should have been higher. Instead of two 35-storey twin towers why not one of 55 stories. I have a problem with is the principle of twin tower. I always thought that the towers of Bell and the National Bank located at the corner of De la Gauchetiere and University was a mistake in their design. There was enough space in the towers to build a single tower. By building a tower of same height as the Place Ville Marie this project would have gained prestige and impact on the skyline of Montreal. In addition to a single building allows more free space at ground level (park, green spaces).

That is really cool! Yes, it would have been better if it was a little taller, but I do like it. It makes a nice canyon effect. Despite being boxy, the architecture less cheesy than Altitude or TOM. The building materials don't look great (pre-fab concrete), but I can overlook that. Merci lake of the nations!

I agree with MTL, this will give a great wall effect, one that this boulevard should of had 40 years ago.

Merci pour le scoop lake!

I like the new renderings, however I'd like to see one with L'Avenue in the picture...I don't think it would look as good

L'Avenue will be situated behind it. On the next pic, the Rocabella is highlighted in green whereas l'Avenue will occupy the rest of the parking lot facing the Bell Center.

Extremely average design, with no features whatsoever, but at least they're twins.
