Malta's the real deal. Incredibly nice, hospitable and gentle people (all of whom speak the best English in Europe besides the British), jaw-dropping architecture wherever you look, medieval urbanity every two feet, street life you literally swerve around (don't mess with nanna's perch as she watches the world go by), people watch TV on summer evenings in other countries (!!)
, get some grit, dust, and rock in your hire car and (if it gets up those hills) you'll find a secluded spot for a swim in the Med. It's festa time now and all summer at a village here, over there, everywhere. Grab a pastizzi.. or twenty, home made ravjul so good you'll have it all every day. Strike up a chat with the locals and they'll invite you in, and bring their friends. Welcome to paradise!
