Best of Peachtree Street - the heart of Atlanta

Peachtree street is the main artery of Atlanta, connecting downtown to midtown and continuing on as Peachtree road up to Buckhead. This thread is a small tour of downtown and midtown on a Friday. Every picture is taken from Peachtree Street, and the tour heads from South to North. Enjoy!

Thanks for the thread: great pix! The various streetscape projects are really paying off; so nice to see Atlanta without having to look thru a tangle of ugly wires. In pic 44, what's the construction in front of the apartment building on the SE corner of Peachtree and Ponce?

The "free right" lane is being closed and turned into a plaza.

Thank-you so much for the fascinating photo tour on Peachtree. I found many in there to count as favorites as well. Loved the street/people scenes.

Sometimes I forget how urban central Atlanta is, you get caught up in the sprawling suburban aspect but it does have some impressive urbanity. Thanks for this great thread.

Much more urban than I had imagined. But damn, it seems as if every restaurant is a national chain.

^ A Peachtree Street address comes at a price but I can assure you that Atlanta has one of the country's best local restaurant scenes.

Great tour! I did my own walk of the first portion ( from Underground ATL to. peach tree Center) during a three and a half hour plane layover and enjoyed it, but I'll have to return and check out Midtown and Buckhead too.

Much how I liked your epic version of Peachtree, I like your condensed version of Peachtree. Loved the people shots and the Candler Building.

Another great thread, thanks for sharing!
You stopped about 3 blocks from my street...will you be continuing up Peachtree Road?
