An affiliate of Novare Group Investments LLC and its Austin partner, Andrews Urban LLC, said they plan to break ground this spring on the project, to be named SkyHouse Austin. Located at 47 Rainey Street on downtown’s eastern edge, the tower would include significant retail space, Novare/Andrews Urban said in a statement.

SkyHouse is being planned for 47 Rainey St. by an affiliate of Novare Group Investments LLC and its Austin partner, Andrews Urban LLC. It could break ground in June and open in early fall of 2013.

Its June now! When are they going to start construction of this thing? First they said sometime in late Spring, then I remember May being mentioned. Drove by the site yesterday and there is No sign that this will be starting construction anytime soon.

Their site plan has yet to be approved...

Must have this in place prior to requesting demolition/building permits.

It'll be north of Windsor on the Park, though. Windsor on the Park is 339 feet. The Shore is 257 feet. This building will probably be around 275 feet or so with that crown. It's too bad this tower couldn't switch places with The Shore. The Milago Condominums will also be about half its height at 142 feet. So it'll mostly be hidden from view from the south and west, which is really a shame, because that's where the best sweeping views are.

True, but most people don't view downtown from those angles. Most view it passing through on 35, where it will be completely seen. I was speaking more to the design, which is by far the best of any Rainey area tower.

Love it and I agree it will be a signature tower for the Southeast corner of Downtown at least until the twin 50 floor towers are hopefully built. Im hoping each pillar ar the top lights up tonight and looking at the rendering im thinking thats the plan.

I think it will go very well with the other buildings in the area. The ground floor retail, I'm sure, will be a very welcome addition to residents of the neighborhood.

There will be a nice little dense cluster of buildings over there on the southernmost extent of Rainey Street. I guess that's the point, though. All these developers want to be near the water and the trail.

The question Id like to ask now is how many more exact replicas will be made of this building? I understand about the money savings of using the same design but this is going to be ridiculous to have the same exact building in at least 4 cities, I think St. Louis is supposed to have the same exact design as well unless I heard wrong. We know about cookie cutter subdivisions now its cookie cutter highrises.

I don't like the parking garage except for the retail part, it looks like a poorly disguised add on, very generic with little tie in to the main tower.

That's the atlanta design. I'm not sure the Austin version has that.

Apparently the parking garage will be adjacent to the tower.

This was from the Site Plan filed with the city.
