They really need to do something about the intersection of the two main streets outside the Barclays Centre to make it better for pedestrians. Especially if there are going to be thousands of people arriving/leaving at once for the games. There are two wide, highway-like streets meeting at an angle that create extraordinarily long pedestrian crossings. I felt like I was taking my life into my hands crossing Flatbush Avenue. Even if they just had the crosswalks going straight across the streets rather than at an angle would be something.

Yep. Flatbush Ave. needs to rebuilt in that part of Brooklyn, especially where it intersects with Atlantic Ave.

NYC DOT has a pedestrian rebuilding in the works, but it won't be close to done by opening day at the arena, which is odd timing to say the least.

I never deal with that crossing, because you can just cut under either avenue through the subway/LIRR station.
