Interesting Facts/Records (in own words):

• Architect: Luiz Pereira Barreto (Reconstruction)

• Owners: MASP (Museu de Arte de São Paulo) & VIVO (Telephones)
______________________________________________________________

The building was abandonned for years since it was not used as Residential anymore since long time. It had big appartments in a noble place.

• About some years ago, at 2005, the VIVO phone company donated R$ 13 million for the MASP to buy the building, asking in return to installing an antenna on top of it with massive light with a logo of the brand. See please old building conditions plan at http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=61695

• Enforcement of the historic gazebo and then vetoed the MASP Vivo and fought a battle in court. Without the tower, the phone wanted back the money disbursed. Last November 2011, reached an agreement.

• And only in January this year 2012, approved the funding of over R$ 15 million by Rouanet law to transform the Dumont-Adams MASP VIVO. Without the viewpoint of discord, the company was content to christen the space for the next 25 years.

• On the ground floor is planned a gallery for temporary exhibitions sponsored by Vivo, moved beyond the administrative area of the museum.

• The seven floors above will house a school of graduate studies in museology, art history and restoration should create the MASP.

• Above the slab of the original building, a white cube, with a ceiling height of 15 meters, should be other shows. On top of all, installed a café, which already has a sponsorship of $ 2 million from Nestlé.

• The Building renovation received 2 new constructed floors atop the old 10-storey highrise in reinf. concrete with same square floors. Atop of the renovated concrete Structure was constructed a narrower square floor reinf. concrete Tower Structure for expositions and the modern restaurant atop. The facade followed the tendency in avenue today to do all in glass curtain, since many old buildings in avenue transformated from residential to office got such clean material outside, becoming a modern appearance of glass cube. This had the intention to harmonise the avenue blocks, even when the MASP museum at other side of street is much lower in Height compared.

if you understand Portuguese and do it perfectly, allright. Just please do not change my editions in those cards. The Research took me too many time. Do it exactly as I requested. Thanks.

The entries is not at whole satisfaction done. I Said not to touch the editons I've made. Why have you touched wrongly all other data ? It was a shitty edition work of yours.

You did an error at this: http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=61695
I asked not to change my edition and you did wrongly. The new project should be another building card. The structure only is used. But the Project is totally changed as original.

MK, we're not sure what you're trying to say. A renovated/altered building does not receive a secondary entry in the database. It is still one building that has been altered. Is this the case or is this not the case?

Mike, It remained nothing of the old building. More than 90% of the old structure is redone. It is a complete reconstruction in a totally new postmodern shape. The old was art-deco. So for me it is 2 entries. It is a pity having to depend on others here.

- The old building is 46.9m high, it was in ruin. Including the visible Basement behind has 54m, because it is in inclinated down street. 2 Floors more.
- The new building is to be 70m, maximum allowed today for Av. Paulista, for new constructions highrises.

I lived in this street for more than 25 years, 7 blocks away this museum. I know what I am talking about. I've visited the museum several times in loco. None stranger Editor here, who never went to Brazil knows better than me. So it should have done exactly as I asked to be. You can read that precisely in Portuguese, a language I know.

New building should be added if only old one was destroyed.

As artemco said, we can't add a new building unless the previous was destroyed. That's how the database works.

In the description we can mention the details of the previous structure and the previous uses.

MK, I would prefer if you wouldn't lower the conversation to such a level. Let's keep things civil here.
