My Neighborhood - Never a Dull Moment - June 28, 2012
A long spell of extremely hot, dry weather predisposed the area to fires, and this 3-house fire on Sturgis Street wasn't an isolated incident.
Police tape and dense, overgrown tree and shrub foliage made it impossible to get any clear photos of the flames, of which there were plenty at the rear of the
houses. In this sort of weather the fire department doubles up on equipment and manpower in order to allow plenty of breaks to cool off and hydrate.
