I quite like the area of Edgewater stretching from the red line tracks on the east to Clark Street on the west, and Bryn Mawr to the north and Foster to the south. It's a great residential area with nice old buildings and pleasant streetscapes lined by mature trees. And of course to the west on Clark you have some great shops, restaurants, and bars, while to the east you have the red line to travel around the city. Thanks for the photos! I was just in this area last week while staying with a friend (actually he lives in Rogers Park, but we spent a fair amount of time in Edgewater as well).
great to see the far north side lakefront....an area definitely underrepresented on this forum.
the hamilton's photo brought back memories for me....that was our hangout during my UIC days (rather, showing my age, when i was there it was UICC.
the area around Loyola on Sheridan (both the N/S and E/W portions) has definitely improved over time. of course, it will never have the glory of the old Granada days.
Cool! I've been meaning to upload my Edgewater tour, along with the rest of my neighborhood tours. I guess I dont have to worry about it for the time being lol...
