CURITIBA -BRASIL , Benchmark city !

WELCOME TO CURITIBA

Curitiba is located in southern Brazil, Parana state capital . With a population of 1.9 million and an enviable Human Development Index (HDI) of 0.856, Curitiba has become a benchmark in road transport, tourism and urban ecology.
The city has been enriched by European immigration - such as Germans, Italians, Polish , British, French , Dutch and Ukrainians. Among the things that offer residents a good quality of living are its wide tree lined streets, leisure areas, planned industrial districts and residential neighbourhoods that have what one expects from a modern and cosmopolitan metropolis.
Furthermore, it is one of the five best cities in Latin America to invest, in. Gastronomy is diversified and offered by over 5 thousand restaurants.
The city also offers tourists the opportunity to visit good museums, parks with surprising beauty.

Curitiba seems to take better care of its old buildings than Sao Paulo, which is good. What a beautiful city!

gee, you never heard of capibaras? They are the largest rodents in the world. And they are cute and docile.

"largest rat in the world" yeah right. After all, its a rodent. I wonder if they consider beavers and porcupines to be rats too.

they are almost semi-aquatic... they are always found only near bodies of water.

I'll echo the beautiful city comments. Definately see the Euro influence too. I remember a program on TV highlighting mass transit, and Curitiba's bus system was used as an example of a successful, planned mass transit option. I enjoyed the pics, and always nice to see a Brazilian city. Thanks.

Nice pics, man!

I think you'd still need a car there, the density isn't as high as in some other places, but I could be wrong...
