staten island st.george/new brighton historic district
never enough staten island!
there is some redevelopment excitement in this particular neighborhood lately as they want to built a london eye type ferris wheel on the waterfront here:
so with that -- enjoy a stroll around the small and cozy st. george/new brighton historic district.
it emcompasses westervelt ave, st. marks pl, carroll pl. and st. peters pl:
Nice! My apartment has a view of this area from across the harbor, but I've never been, other than the ferry terminal. Should go check it out sometime. It's got way more character than what "Staten Island" brings to mind. I'm sure that's the case with a lot of the island, though.
