Confusion corner. And if you don't know what that is without Googling it, you have no idea what REAL intersections are all about.

I'll lay my ignorance completely out here - I've never heard the term used for an intersection anywhere else.

This should frighten even the most skilled driver.

That image is emblematic of Winnipeg and IMO should be used in marketing materials for the city. Less Than Kind's use wasn't mainstream enough (excellent show if you want to get a feel for Winnipeg, btw).

Wikipedia even has a fairly long article on it.

So many great intersections in this country....I have personal fav's all around.

My overall though would have to go to Winnipeg; Portage & Main. If any city were to have an intersection respectively akin, as historical and significant all whilst being the heart of the city at the same time, that intersection would get my respect in that city.

For me, other fav's are:

Toronto - Yonge & King. Hands down.
Montréal - St Laurent & St. Catherine, though I also really like the heart of Mile End
Vancouver - Granville & Robson for me. Lots of good memories around here!
Calgary - I love Stephen ave & first st. sw, (Also love 1st st se and riverfront se because of thi thi)
Edmonton - Whyte Ave & 104 st
Winnipeg - Confusion Corner. Friggin awesome intersection. (x2 freeweed!)
Regina - Scarth & Victora
Saskatoon - Broadway & Main
Ottawa - Sparks & Metcalfe

I want to spend more time in Halifax, Québec, St Johns, Hamilton, and other cities before I make any claims on them.

Thank-fully Gastown has become an office/residential area. This 5 way intersection would be perfect as a plaza.

Holy ****. I had no idea any of Vancouver looked like that. Awesome. Just flawless. I love it.

I'd have to delve down to the level of saying: "That one building could use a couple more windows on its side" to find anything I'm not thrilled by.

Ste. Catherine and St. Laurent looks like shit despite the fact it is where 2 iconic streets meet. It will improve when they finally renovate the run-down buildings on the West side of St.Laurent. But even then, not sure I would call it the best-looking intersection in the city.

Nice. I didn't call it the best looking intersection in the city, by the way.

I myself have always loved Dunsmuir at Burrard.

It honestly has a very strong big city feel, with the Burrard skytrain station / park (subway) and Bental 3, 4, 5, Park Place, Hyatt Hotel, and Royal Bank tower all surrounding it (and now the Shangri-La popping up behind the Concrete Waffle building).

Then, in the spring all the cherry trees bloom and it is amazing.

I know this analogy is used a lot, but it does have a Tokyo feel to it (and by that I mean it feels similar to some of the newer business districts with the subways at the base).

Google Earth does not do it justice:

https://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&ll...3.02,,0,-13.44

PS - I don't know why but the Bental complex is probably my favorite office complex in Canada, Bental 3 and 4 have a very monolithic presence, the slow tappers towards the top add a great aspect when standing at their base, and of course the dark glass adds some good variety to Vancouver. Also, Bental 5 is just beautiful!

Great idea for a thread!

I have so many favorite corners in Canada that I really would have a hard time choosing.

I will go with the one that I think is the most storied, historical, and important one in the country...............Portage & Main in the old Peg.
