Top Ten Buildings in Your Region

Ok, so we'll start off by everyone throwing a list of their ten favourites. Then I will create a poll to see which ten go National. Remember, no limits to the qualifiers. Could be any reason, architecture, historical significance, Political influence, height, etc.

I will start the poll tomorrow so lets throw some good ones up there. Try and put pictures if you can so people can see what they will be voting for.

It would be much easier for me to come up with a "bottom 10" list, as there is little to recommend about London (the boring one).

The school of the 1% makes the cut? I do like the Dominion Public building, University College, and the other old buildings posted. Talbot centre is banal. Bah, I got spoiled living in Montreal much of my life.

I love the new Ivy School of Business Building. I don't know much about the school and I don't give a crap if it's "the school of the 1%". All I know is that it's a nice, sleek, modern building.

While I do agree that the Talbot Centre isn't the greatest (sometimes it feels like it belongs in a suburban office park), I included it because they are some of the few all glass skyscrapers downtown. Also, I couldn't find decent pictures for some of the smaller, lesser known buildings that I like around town.

Top Ten Buildings in Your Region

1.Duff Baby House c. 1796. William Henry Harrison slept here before he was president.

2 Francois Baby House c. 1812, much to its misfortune. It was also occupied by the Yankee invaders.

3 Mackenzie Hall Built by our second Prime Minister before his battles with Sir John A.

4 Hiram Walker HQFounded by a Scottish American, it's still turning out the good stuff.

5 Willistead Manor Built by Hiram's son Chandler, now a city venue.

6 Old Walkerville Town Hall The next three serviced the needs of townsfolk and travelers alike.

7 Crown Inn

8 Old Walkerville Post Office

9 Art Gallery of Windsor Rebuilt on the site of a temporary casino which was in turn built into an old brewery that was the former site of the Art Gallery. Got that?

10 Augustus Tower 2008 addition to existing casino includes 5000 seat entertainment hall.
