I don't understand. Is this part of that multi-tower development that was announced about 2-3 years ago? If so, what happened to the others?

nope, different. that is a 4 tower project, with the 4th tower being the one that is slightly faded out in the foreground of that first render. it is somehow still working its way through the proposal stage as the developers seem to be in no rush with it.

Is that an existing house in front of the tower? If so, that's awfully nice of the developers to keep it.

It is the Gooderham Mansion from 1884 (a heritage property - so it cannot be torn down), which is currently a Clarion hotel. The heritage home will be moved towards the street (currently it's set back because there is parking in front) and the tower will climb behind it, incorporating the mansion into the design.

This one is now a rental building.

Movement on site - demolition equipment has arrived.

Love the color of this building, it'll definitely be a nice building to gaze at especially on a rainy/cloudy day where all aother building are a boring blue/gray, along with sortof accenting the Scotia bank, even with their distance apart.

I like it, primarily given its wafer-thinness. I like pretty ballerinas much more than oafish thugs (Rofo/Dofo)

This one is in site prep, or they are getting ready to move the old historic building.

I wonder if they'll switch from brick to precast towards the upper floors.

I dont care for the blue spandrel section.

Thanks for the pic, Urbannizer. This is one of many that have fallen off my radar. Good to see it well on its way aloft.

Too bad about the light blue spandrel and grey brick base. Looks so contrived.

It's been nearly 6 months, it's looking a lot better than what we saw from January (Yesterday):
For context..it's poking above the National Post offices:

Nice cladding:

Podium cladding is incomplete...but getting there:

Loving this one. Not nearly as bright red as the renderings, but still very nice - and a nice change of pace from a lot of the (spandrel) glass boxes around it.
