Quantum in New York!

Departing MIA for JFK!

This is a departure angle I've wanted to see for a long!

This building is so gorgeous and so underrated. If it were in any other city (Chicago, LA, etc.) It would be praised as one of the cities icons. Sad that it gets lost in the vast skyline of NY.

Are you sure? Isn't this 500 Fifth Avenue? Walking by it on my first trip to New York decades ago, I thought it was the Empire State Building. It certainly is a New York icon in my book.

^yes, that great building is 500 5th. It does get a little "lost" in that location because of other visual diversions, such as the iconic Main Library of the New York Pub Lib & Bryant Park across the street. Also the Chrysler Bldg & Grand Central are just to the east, and to the west Times Square and the Conde Nast building. Added to these is the constant swirl of activity on 42nd St which tend to draw one away from noticing 500 5th, which, as noted, is indeed an impressive structure. I took this one from the park last year--

Not to mention Bank of America's new ultramodern supertall is close by as well.

OMG, Yes! And Saturday was nice and cool for walking around the city. I will post more tomorrow. I have to go to work now. I still have a few of Times Square at night to go, the Top of the Rock I have yet to post, and then there's a few from the bus tour.
