CHARLOTTE | 620 South Tryon | 632 FT | 33 FLOORS

632 FT tower in Charlotte has it cranes up already.

Quote:
Lincoln Harris and Goldman Sachs are developing a new, 33-story office tower for Bank of America. The Charlotte-based bank is leasing more than 500,000 square feet of the 845,000 square-foot tower, scheduled for completion in 2019.

Diamond top crowns are ageless. They always add a nice silhouette to the skyline.

So far pretty uninspiring, hope it ends nicely when it's done. A bit bland. Reminds me of the failed attempts at classic revival in the 80s.

Was in Charlotte 6-7th of July, took me awhile to find this project thread. Here are two quick photos. Agree with the sentiment this project isn't on par with previous Charlotte developments. Crazy how much the skyline has changed since I was last there in 2015 though.

This looks like one of the countless Po-mo derivatives that you'd see in many cities. The crown will hopefully make this look alright....albeit suburban.

I'm glad Charlotte is getting another new skyscraper, but this building looks like a chinese copy of Mellon Center in Philly.

Love Charlotte's skyline. It's like modern but classic.

This building is horrid.

Looks like it came straight out of the mid-90's, a shame it has to be right next to the Duke Energy Center since that's a pretty great skyscraper.

Quote:
On the 14th and 15th floors of the new Bank of America Tower, employees work in open spaces, in front of floor-to-ceiling windows. Outside those windows, Charlotte’s skyline is extending to the South, in what was mostly empty lots and surface parking less than five years ago.

Bank of America employees started moving into the building this week. Flanked by cranes and construction sites, the 33-story tower is a milestone in a changing Stonewall Street corridor.

The building at 620 South Tryon St. is the first piece of the 10-acre, two-block Legacy Union project that Lincoln Harris is developing in the area along Interstate 277.
