As far as I know - most countries in the world have not recognized Taiwan as a nation.
But yeah, let's not open that can of worms.

I have a worm in my pants--but we probably shouldn't open it here.

Are you referring to SOM?? They have built some of the most hated buildings in NYC. If so, what "not so bad" skyscraper work are u referring to?

1) Give examples of those "most hated" works

2) Attest that they are "some of the most hated" by the city, not just by you personally

3) SOM began most of its skyscraper work in the NYC in the 60's. Give me examples of some of the city's "most beloved" designs built in the 60's and onwards

I know that I may be biased on such a post for obvious reasons, and SOM is not responsible for masterpieces like Hearst Tower, but I'd still like to have those questions answered.

SOM work in other cities is much better than what they produce in NYC. Including chicago but from what I understand its a different divison.

1) To name a few hated ones:
One Liberty Plaza
One Chase Plaza
JP Morgan Chase World Headquarters
Metrotech

2) I'm not going to spend hours on end researching articles and posts and polls that speak of the most hated scrapers but you know very well that most people (not all) are not too crazy about the aforementioned buildings.

3) Most beloved

Citicorp Building

The ole shot again, August 10th, the clouds are most likely blow-offs from the nasty typhoon striking south of here:

Ill. Looks like a rendering.

By the way, when the hell did the tower shoot up so high? It already towers over the skyline plateau.

Not the NYC SOM. Jin Mao, as well as Burj Dubai, Trump Tower Chicago, the Master Plan for Millennium Park in Chicago were designed by Adrian Smith of the SOM Chicago office. Earlier works like the Sears Tower, Hancock Center and others by the team of Bruce Graham & engineer Fazlur Khan as well as some stuff by John Zils.

SOM NYC hasn't made a major building since the original Lever Bldg.
