I must say the concrete is looking much better now.

The windows are different from the rendering. See below. I just wonder if the back windows are finished or are the builder going to punch new windows out to even up the rows? Seems odd that it is not done already.

The windows will not undergo further changes, and the renderings are quite old, there are many minor changes if you look closely. This building was changed from steel framing to completely concrete construction (due to rising steel costs), this rendering that we keep seeing may be that older design which would explain many of the subtle differences.

Chris, Any explanation for the window pattern being so retarded?
Anyway you slice it... it looks unfinished. imho

btw...Even in the latest ads WFS is still using the same renderings, look one page back (32)...and you'll still see the same subtle differences that your referring to, noticeably w/ the crown. Even if the builders decided to use concrete instead of steel...what does that have to do with taking away windows?

The different window patterns probably represent different floorplans and as they were selling units maybe they found that some layouts were selling better then others.

the backs of the buildings will just be facing other buildings once the rest of the complex goes up. considering the other three sides, and even the corners of the backsides, have large windows, and maybe that's where they put the stairs, elevators, bathrooms, or other service space. anyone have pics of floor layouts?

I have two sample floor plans. The stairs and elevators are in the center of each tower. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, but they're all placed against inside walls.
____

I just noticed that the WaterfrontSquare.com web site has floor plans for the Reef and Horizon up. Here's a nice one:

^ that's a really nice layout, especially the full-width balcony. I imagine that's a big selling point for a lot of people, and things like 3 full bathrooms (with a jacuzzi plus big shower in the master), lots of a closet space and a walk-in laundry room don't hurt either.

I wouldn't mind moving into a unit like that if I had the money...its great layout would help me to ignore the blandness of the outside of the building.

EDIT: they should have used sliding pocket doors for the den though...but that's a minor quibble.

I took a tour of this building a few months back and the floorplan differentiation is the deciding factor in window placement, (I even asked that question myself ). The above floorplan reminds me of the units found at each of the first two setbacks of the buildings, the balconies are huge, as each tenant recieves the entire width and half the length of each setback (two units), the penthouse balconies are even larger and offered some amazing views of the city (sorry, my account ran out on the pics I posted of some interiors and the aforementioned balconies but they were quite impressive views).

From the rendering, it looks like the Horizon is on top the parking garage. Is that right?? If that's the case can't we already consider the Horizon UC?

That would be sweet if they built the Horizon next, perhaps this is phase one of the garage

imo, the buildings are looking much better after the concrete darkened up. I just think the (smaller) windows in back look unfinished as well as that frickin little chimney

That's the central garage between the four smaller towers. There are two more towers that will go up on either side of that garage, and then Horizon will be in front of that garage we currently see being built.

So it's not the Horizon, yet.

That full length balcony is a nice feature that I don't think is in the two towers that are built now.

The Horizon 125m (Still listed proposed)
The Tides 112m (Still listed proposed)
*The Regatta 100m (Listed Under Construction)
*The Peninsula 88m (Listed Under Construction)
*The Reef 76 m (Listed Under Construction)

Once they decide on the project and sign the papers , they aren't obligated to go through 100%. Does the design have to change or is it just going to look out of proportion.

If any condo towers get built in Philly it will be all of Waterfront Square. They have enough reservations to build these towers but they aren't going to build them ahead of schedule either.

Walk Through 1 bedrrom + Den

They started walk throughs today and closings will begin in mid July. I have pictures of a 1 bedroom + Den as well as a several pics of the lobby. The windows hadn't been cleaned yet and were pretty muddy but the rest of the place looked good. It was also mentioned that the pilings for the other buildings were going in next week.
