Nothing at the Rivercenter although yesterday was the final day Dillards was open.
The framing of the Walgreens is up, a two-story steel square is up.
The Neisner building is gutted out. Haven't seen much activity since the first weekend when the news came out.
No activity at the Texas Building.
No other work on the Embassy although the digging is getting cleaned up around the edges; maybe the restaraunt will be located a little below street level (only half of the lot is dug out.)
No change at Piazza San Lorenzo although I did see somewhere on some meeting notes or request for permit that the signage on the front of the Book bldg was to be changed or maybe it was for renovation of the face of the building.
The new Marriott adds nicely to the skyline when on St. Mary's/Travis looking South towards the Tower life building.
No visible (new) work on the 1221 Broadway lofts, although I did see crews cleaning up behind the main structure. Maybe they were replacing old plumbing for the new layouts and changes?
The building at 10th/Alamo is being swept away slowly.
I believe the Vidorra is now "sealed", and we should see stucco go up soon.
Framing on the townhomes is underway.
Nothing new on 1800 Broadway.
The Broadway should see the 4th floor being poured on soon.
Quarry Village is shaping up nicely, West Elm and Smith and Hawken are set to open in October, most of the stone is up; stucco is up and just needs to be painted.

I am guessing that the office buildings would be about 5 to 7 levels a piece.

There will definately be some parking garages in that 21.5 acres..It is amazing that San antonio is scrared of building parking garages, but they are one of the ways to save space.

The SO (Stone Oak) has a lot of hotels now...nice...

Vistana

Greetings from a long time reader. For the next few months I will be posting about the Vistana from my perspective as the developer. I will try to provide background regarding our concept, the team which is working on the projects, the architects (four) and the ups and downs of construction. As this progresses, you may want to refer to the project web page, www.thevistana.com. Pay particular attention to the web cam (button on the opening page, bottom left). this updates every ten minutes, so you can follow our progress in real time. The web cam is mounted on a roof soffet on the Santa Rosa Hospital, catte-corner from the project. Besides looking at it frequently myself, we intend to compile the images into a 3 minute movie of the construction. We are schedule to move the first residents in on November 1st and complete the building by December 31st.
One other note, please feel free to ask questions and I will try to answer promptly.

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here.

I have a question about the building itself. How tall will it be? How many usable floors will it have? As in, floors that are not used only for mechanics/utilities. How many feet tall will the building be? What is the height to the main roof? What is the height to the upper portion of the roof and spire/copula?

By the way........the food was good.
On the Starwood Hotel website, they show an opening of 1 December 2009.
Also the Four Points downtown is set to open on November 1st of this year? I don't know how I missed that one. I go by St. Marys all the time.

Looks like the Springhill Suites on 411 Flores got final approval yesterday as seen on page 202 of the HDRC agenda.
It looks nice, and 6 floors will add nice height in that section.
also on page 145 is a cheesy motel near the Mission Power Plant redevelopment and on page 150 is the rendering of the new terminal at the airport.

You know I really like how this building looks...

And also the Tesoro...also the Broadway looks cool from the front it has a curved design...

I will take a picture of it...later this week.

They also started constuction of the two hotels on Sonterra and 281 in the SO (StoneOak). The construction is mostly ground prep so far. Does anybody know how many stories these hotels are going to be?

Agreed. It's a very nice design.

Does anyone know what retail is going in the first floor besides the bank?
