Examples of Effective Place Making in Canada

Happy City St. John's is the foremost citizen engagement organization in our city. They're always bringing valuable contributions to our discourse, such as Doctor Katherine Loflin.

Her presentation on Place Making is brilliant - and fascinating. Who knew you could see same-year improvements in citizen's attachment to their city with simply actions like these?

There is a lot of great content in this presentation, and references from other Canadian cities as well. Have a look, and let us know what examples of Place Making exist in your city!

Full disclosure: She gives me a shout out in the beginning and uses some of my photos in her presentation.

Sele, for me, is something of circumstance and is difficult to build as though you were going about feng shui. Part of it has to do with nesting and accustomisation of the people who live around and use it. It takes time to build and requires contribution from more than architects and political leaders.

That's my input.

Sele?

I love that young people now rank place as their most important consideration in deciding where to live, even more important than employment.

That gives me great hope for future development.

Sadly, the sound on that video is too low to understand what the woman is saying.

Aww, that's too bad. Are you sure there's nothing you can do with your computer settings? The volume is fine on mine - I can even make it uncomfortably loud.
