NEW YORK | Sky House | 588 FT / 179 M | 54 FLOORS

I'm not sure if this tower is even under construction

Flatiron District, Manhattan

Currently under construction, Sky House is a 54-story luxury condominium located at 11 East 29th Street in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. This dynamic building designed by Fox & Fowle Architects features 138 one, two and three bedroom homes.

Pretty ugly... but damn tall.

some architects don't understand something:

TALLER doesn't always mean BETTER...

What an eyesore. i hope that never gets built.

I'm sure that the rendering doesn't do justice to the project. It won't be bad at all.

thats not fair.... what exactly would the architect have to do with how tall it is?

also it has to be mentioned this is a Fox and Fowle building.... they certainly understand that better than most.

One facade emphasizes the vertical lines and the other shows clearly each individual floor. I'd like to see that in reality.

It looks like some suburban sprawl architect was hired to design something that didn't look urban but yet in the urban setting. Dear God it looks terrible.

What's everyone complaining about? It's just a residential, and at least it doesn't have ugly balconies sticking out of every floor.

What's ugly about it? Just another veritical box in NYC, but a little more elongated - that could be pretty cool actually, making it look taller than it really is.

It'll actually look pretty good, if you know... Used your brains to imagine what it would look like instead of judging a rendering.

Just a thought.

i understand what you mean about having to imagine, matty. but i've seen one too many renderings where the artist emphasises the best aspects of a building... only to see the finished product lack that emphasis, or materials are degraded, or landscaping that was so prominent in a rendering turns out to be non-existent on balaconies and rooftops.

We all agree that it looks tall and slender. But does anyone have an idea of the actual height ?
