Hey, what do you guys think of maybe pulling our resources together to maybe put together a little Boise Booster site, with all of this info and then pics and different things like that?

I've seem some of the sites that different forumers have done for denver and other places and some of them rock.

BTW, this list is very informative, thanks for all the work on it

that's a sweet list! thanks for putting it together. hope it grows by leaps and bounds in the next 6 months, too.

is the banner bank officially 12 stories? that would have to include the little 'arch' at the top.

as for the BSU luxury box tower, i think that might be close to being a done deal. BSU averaged 30,048 fans this season (just over 100%) with a pretty crappy home schedule, and from what i've heard the fundraising is going very well and that they've sold out the suites already. if true, we could see a groundbreaking this winter (BSU has publicly stated they want it completed by the 2008 season).

Hey there, been lurking for a while, this looks like a good place for a first post. I've always been interested in downtown Boise development, so hopefully I'll be able to provide something here.

I like the list a lot.

I'll see if I can add some pictures or what have you in the future.

Fantastic!!! Another Boise forumer. Welcome aboard City Of Trees.

It looks like we have a date (2008) and a height (146') for the BSU Luxury Suites/Press Box.

Note: Date on the Capitol building should be 1920.

Yes, the Project Manager stated a height of 182' to the top of the 12th floor. I suppose it could be a mechanical penthouse.

This brings up the question on floor counts. Floor counts on Emporis look inconsistant. What criteria should be used?

Well, it looks like the few posters here are still making up for the small numbers. Maybe it's also because Boise's being classified in a rather big region--I personally say Boise is part of the Northwest, an age old argument. This is the most geographically screwed up state in the nation.

Thanks for the welcome!

I also agree that Idaho should be part of the Northwest. Boise is moving up the food chain. They need bigger buildings! I don't understand why cities in the east that are same size as Boise have like 500 footers. It makes me mad.

I remember the days when there weren't ANY Boiseans! It was back in the days when there was still a tower crane up on the Boise Tower site, and I was like, hmmmm I wish there was someone from boise here to tell us more! I took it upon myself to represent Boise (as best as someone can 400 miles away )

I remember posting a thread about Boise Tower, and BoDo before it broke ground....

... I got your back, boys! haha

That's got to be one of the most user-friendly and easy to read project threads I've seen. It looks like Boise has a lot of great infill going on- and hopefully some more high rises will be added to the mix soon!

Welcome to the forum, City of Trees.

The group of Boise forumers continues to grow!

Boizean, I nominated you to start an official Boise Construction thread in a different thread. Guess I should have read this thread first!!

Thanks.

Now, lets all keep posting on this thread as much as possible, so we can all keep up to date on the goings on in our beloved city!

don't get your hopes up, but this could be potentially good news about Boise Tower:

Quote:
District Judge Kathryn Sticklen requested additional briefings Tuesday on whether developer Rick Peterson should be included in the dispute between Capital City Development Corp. and Boise Tower Associates.

BTA claimed Peterson is part of the lawsuit because of a $12 million deed of trust he holds on the undeveloped site at the northwest corner of 8th and Main streets. CCDC argued that BTA holds the title to the property.

Sticklen asked both sides to file briefs by Dec. 16. She will then take the matter under advisement and issue a ruling at a later date.

Peterson, meanwhile, said Tuesday that more than one potential ownership group has met with CCDC in hopes of taking over the stalled project.

CCDC lawyer Richard Boardman would only confirm that settlement negotiations are continuing.
it would be nice to get the "On Hold" turned to "Under Construction"... too bad this is all taking so darned long, though. there doesn't seem to be any desire to get this thing figured out quickly.

can you imagine if you were one of the poor folks who reserved one of the condos? you've already been waiting at least 5 years, and will probably have many more years to wait, too.

that would be good if the tower could get back on track, and i hope that they got a refund after 5 years, or some probably moved away.

update on the Boise State press box tower:

looks like they've got a sponsor for the reception area on the 11th floor, and have sold enough luxury boxes and suites to ask the SBOE to get things moving.

expected opening is for the 2008 season... this is great news, though i wish it also included more seating (like enclosing the south end zone).

Thanks Wasatch_One for watching our backs in our absence. Boise and Salt Lake City do have a lot of ties. Much like the Big Brother Little Brother that has been mentioned before.

Glade to accomodate your request before your request.

I've wondered about that too. I'd be a little miffed if my money was tied up in this boondoogle.

On the BSU Luxury Suites/Press Box. Haven't they sold more suites than they originally planned giving a good indication they might add another floor?
