Those BBQ grills on the podium are a nice touch.

I recently have become a born-again barbecue enthusiast--what a great way to spend an evening. I'd love to cook up some chicken, brats, & steaks with a couple of friends while sitting in a forest of great architecture

So much for getting my hopes up. Do you know whether that will stay closed until a hotel actually opens in Aqua?

Hard to believe that by now, without the boom busting, we could have had pedway through there as well as through Mandarin Oriental all the way to Michigan Avenue...

I am also curious has anyone heard anything about this previous post (copied below) . No one has responed.

"I wanted to know if anyone has heard about any issue with this building getting approval by Fannie and Freddie. According to what I have heard, there were some issues that are preventing the vast majority of the units to close. In fact, Only five have closed (according to the MLS) since closings began in Octoober, all of which are portfolio/cash deals.

In addition, I have heard that Aqua is now considered a commercial development, and as such, buyers need to put down 30% vs. the usual 20% down.

Has anyone heard about any of these issues?"

We followed up on some of the things said here this week with some of our sources close to Aqua this morning and confirmed a lot of what has been said regarding Fannie Mae and closings. You can read the post (complete with a hat tip to this thread) at YoChicago: http://yochicago.com/aqua-closings-g...ae-snag/12884/

Thanks, everyone.

My guess is the hang up is on the Fairmont side, the Aqua side of that leg of the pedway is done.

One of the coolest buildings u/c now!!!

*I never really liked the undersides of the balconies though... Just the plain grey kinda takes away from the blueness of the building...

Looks sweet from a design perspective NO MATTER WHAT

What plain gray? They were painted white--go back and look at pics of this being done and you'll see a real difference.

Oh.... srry for my little mistake...

I still would have preferred a blueish colour for the balcony undersides...

Oh well.... still a magnificent skyscraper
