This might be a good opportunity for a shameless plug. My new book,
Stuck In The Middle: Dissenting Views of Winnipeg is due out November 1. The book consists of my photos, text by Bartley Kives, and a foreword by John K. Samson. I think a lot of the regulars around here are going to like it. It deals with many of the issues that frequently get discussed here, such as the city's magnificent stock of turn-of-the-century, mid-century and contemporary architecture, as well as the city's uneven record of historic preservation. The book also explores Winnipeg's past misadventures in city planning, as well as its love affair with the megaproject.
