Pretty much every "controversial" major project here has had the general opinion change on it pretty soon after opening. With the major exceptions being IGF and the new PSB, but that's largely due to ineptitude and corruption.

I wonder if there's anyone left that thinks negatively of Esplanade Riel. It's by far the most iconic piece of infrastructure in the city, and recognizable as Winnipeg immediately, all over the country. And it's very functional.
